The launch saw 21 participants of the one week OLPC training conducted by DWU trainers receiving a certificate of participation and a laptop each. Education Secretary Dr. Joseph Pagelio during the launch presented 50 laptops to the Board Chairman and headmistress of St. Peter Chanel Primary School and 50 laptops to the headmaster of Gaire Primary School. The Secretary appealed to staff and students to look after these resources as these resources will in the long run aid and enhance the learning of our children. Telikom PNG’s Managing Director Clark Kuliniasi presented a wireless CDMA telephone to St. Peter Chanel Primary School and echoed the appeal made by the Education Secretary to care and protect what little resources we have and refrain from vandalism of public property. He strongly emphasis to those present during the launch to work together with Telikom PNG and protect Telikom cables and telephone lines from being cut or removed by anyone unless authorized.
