OPLC Papua New Guinea did its first ever public display at the annual Divine Word University open day. In partnership with Telikom PNG Limited and Solar Energy Systems, Divine Word University’s Faculty of Education, had a display with children using the XO laptops. They accessed the contents on the server with internet connectivity provided by Telikom PNG Limited. The display was attended by various VIPs which included the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Honorable Charles Abel and Governor for Madang Province Honourable Sir Arnold Amet who were invited to attend the open day. The children who visited the display were drawn to the small XO and the activities on it. Most parents were eager to know about OLPC and what it was all about.
