XO laptops being charged using solar power.A two day power source test was conducted on the 19th and 20th of May 2009 by Mr. Tony Benedict of Westlink Enterprises (Solar Energy Systems) and Mr David Mul, Technical Support officer for OLPC PNG at Divine Word University Madang, Papua New Guinea. 400 Watt solar panel for charging XO laptops.The aim of the test was to measure the power capacity to fully charge the small laptops. The tests included fully charging the small laptops with the batteries fully discharged, and charging the laptops while it’s running with the server. Telikom PNG Director, Clark Kuliniasi was on hand to witness the solar power tests and was impressed. The tests were done to confirm the number of laptops that can be charged while the server with the satellite modem and wireless access point are running at the same time.
